2010SMS2PC Update Coming Soon
Just to let everyone know that a new update for SMS2PC is nearing completion. This update contains the much requested message sync feature so that new message windows contain all the messages sent and received on the phone, allowing you to continue conversations where you left off. It also contains a number of updates to the user interface, making it much more visually attractive but also remaining clean and crisp.
As per usual, the update for the desktop client will be sent out automatically. -

2010SMS2PC v2.9 Update
In an effort to take security to the next level and to also bring a more convenient manner of running multiple SMS2PC clients on the same network, SMS2PC has now an inbuilt pairing system. The system works by allowing you to specify, both on the computer and Android app, a password to use to identify one another. This password must match on both devices for SMS2PC to connect. Not only this, the passwords are deeply encrypted to maximize security and minimize potential unwanted access.
On top of this additional security layer, is the capability for you to run multiple SMS2PC apps at the same time on the same network and only connect to the correct computer. Say you are sharing a network with someone and you both use SMS2PC. The new version will allow you to make sure that your phone only connects to your computer and that any other phone cannot. The other person has the exact same capability with no interference or cross linking between the two.
If this wasn't enough, the update also brings better integrated delivery reports. From now on, if a message is delivered successfully a small notification next to the message will show the success. If a message fails to be delivered, SMS2PC will notify you with a message dialog outlining what the problem is.
As per usual, if you have any problems whatsoever, make sure to contact me and I will be happy to help as soon as I can.

2010SMS2PC v1.9 Update
I have recently published an update for SMS2PC which brings delivery report support and also a number of performance improvements. Although this is not a big update like v1.8, it does set the ground for MMS, something which will enrich the user's messaging lifestyle. MMS support will be totally integrated including the ability to simple drag a file on your PC directly into a message window to send it. Likewise, received messages can easily be saved.
As with any update, if you have any questions or advice feel free to contact me using the contact page above.

2010SMS2PC v1.8 Released!
As part of my continuing support to SMS2PC users, I am today releasing another update. Unlike the regular updates I provide, this contains a number of new features in addition to bug fixes and optimizations. These new features include the ability to send the same message to multiple contacts, integrated delivery reports, emoticons, desktop audio new SMS notifications and the ability to change the size of the new text compose box.
The phone UI has also been upgraded to contain the previous configuration settings but locate them in a separate preference screen. This should allow advanced users to continue to tweak the application but also make sure basic users don't accidently change something they don't really wish to.
To highlight some of these new features I have included a few screenshots.
Main Message Window (with resized compose box, emoticons and delivery notifications)

As shown above, notice the inline message emoticons and that the last message is "greyed". This would later turn green if the Android phone reports back that the message was sent properly.
Multi SMS Window (showing the ability to select and send to multiple contacts)

As shown above, notice that multiple users have been selected. You can also do this for entering numbers manually by separating each number with a comma.
As always, please send any problems or queries directly to me using my website contact box. I will respond as soon as possible! -

2010SMS2PC Updates and Improvements
Over the last few days I rolled out an update to SMS2PC that fixes A LOT of problems users have been having. In particular, slow or incomplete loading of address book and also random connection drops. As reports come in, it looks as though the update is as successful fix. Included with the update is a redesigned desktop chat window. The window now has a nicer and more intuitive look and feel with inbound and outgoing messages colour coded as well as the inclusion of a character counter for when you are composing new messages. Also included is an address book cache feature that will rapidly reduce the reconnection time after it has been connected at least once.
The Android app has also been greatly simplified with the removal of "complex" and unnecessary options that often confuse users or reduce the ease of use of the app.
By popular demand, protocol encryption (DES Strong) is enabled by default, SMS2PC will start when WiFi becomes connected (if set to) and better character encoding is also available. Also, SMS2PC desktop client is now bundled with an automatic update checker that will ensure you have the latest version available.
Please, please, please email me with any suggestions or queries if you have any.

2010SMS2PC Final v1 Update
Have once again just rolled up an update for SMS2PC. This update is for both server and client although you can use the old version of each of the clients with the new version of each of the clients if you really wish to.
The update contains a number tweaks suggested by Brad (thequinox) and Daniel (ghostcorps).
Changelog:
* Focus now automatically given to the textbox where you type your message allow you to avoid having to manually focus it before typing.
* The address book now shows the type of number associated with each person. If for example you have a contact with multiple numbers, it will show the label for each number. e.g. (0131233 - Home, 077777 - Mobile).
* New Window textbox focus.
* Auto - Reconnect will now stop if the user selects "disable SMS2PC" from the preferences.
* Ground laid for WiFi start-up (this has not yet been implemented as I wish to test it for longer in more real life situations).
If you have any more suggestions, ideas etc... please contact me using the contact tab shown above.
